HOUSTON, Texas, (June 16, 2016) – Ikan showed off their new 4K compatible monitors at this year’s NAB conference in Las Vegas and garnered a lot of buzz. The complete line of affordable 4K compatible on-camera monitors, the VL35, the DH5e, and the VXF7, range from 3.5-7 inches and are now available to purchase. These monitors support more pixels, a better resolution, and ultimately clearer pictures.
The VL35 is a great compact on-camera field monitor that is lightweight and supports 4K resolution. With a 3.5″ screen, the VL35 works well for filmmakers that have to work in tight spaces. The monitor pairs well with the Blackmagic Design Micro Cinema camera, GoPro, or with gimbals.
To follow up the popular DH5 monitor, ikan released the DH5e, a 5″ field monitor that boasts a full HD panel with 1920×1080 pixels and 4K support. The DH5e has touchscreen capabilities, allowing you to pinch to zoom and easily adjust options on the menu. This on-camera monitor is a perfect lightweight solution for gimbal operators or for anyone using 4K cameras such as the Sony a7S.
Those that prefer a more classic production monitor design will like the VXF7. This 7″ monitor is the latest update to the VX series and is great for professionals. The VXF7 has a full-HD plus IPS panel (1920×1200 pixels), 4K support, and an SDI to HDMI converter. Designed to function more like a standard production monitor, the VXF7 has easy to access knobs, professional BNC connectors, and a 4 pin XLR power connector. It also has 3G-SDI, component, composite, and HDMI inputs and outputs. This on-camera monitor works well with cameras such as the Sony FS7.
“I’m very proud of our newest full line of affordable 4K compatible on-camera monitors. As one of the few manufacturers with such a complete line of 4K monitors, ikan is once again leading the industry and bringing affordable high quality production tools to filmmakers everywhere,” says Product Manager, Dariel Resendez.
