Service & Warranty

Ikan International LLC (“Ikan”) warranties to the first end-user that the product will, under normal use in accordance with Ikan’s published guidelines, and when received in its original container, be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one year from the purchase date, according to the original sales receipt or invoice. Ikan’s published guidelines include but are not limited to information contained in Quick Star Guides, User Manuals, Tech Tip videos and service communications.

This warranty applies to the purchasing end-user only and proof of purchase is necessary to honor the warranty. If there is no proof of purchase provided with a warranty claim, Ikan reserves the right to apply charges for parts and labor where they may be applicable.

This warranty does not apply to product exterior and aesthetic. Misuse, abnormal handling, alterations or modifications in design, construction and/or use, void this warranty. In addition, this warranty does not apply to (1) the consumable parts, such as batteries, unless failure has occurred due to defect in materials or workmanship (2) damage caused by use with another product (3) damage caused by accident, liquid contact, earthquake, fire or other external causes (4) damage caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the product (5) damage caused by service and/or repair performed by anyone other than Ikan.

This warranty replaces and supersedes any and all previous warranties offered by Ikan.

*An extra note about LCD displays: It is considered a ‘normal and non-warrantable occurrence’ in the broadcast industry for currently manufactured Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) panels to have up to three (3) or sometimes more ‘failed or defective’ pixels. Ikan considers this industry standard too high and has set our ‘normal, non-warrantable occurrence’ at one (1) ‘failed or defective’ pixel. Ikan therefore reserves the right to consider one (1) ‘failed or defective’ pixel as normal and acceptable and to not be covered under the standard one-year Ikan warranty policy. Two (2) or more ‘failed or defective’ pixels will be covered under the standard one-year Ikan warranty policy. Due to constant effort to improve products and product features, specifications may change without notice.

An Ikan issued RMA number is required to initiate any repair service. To obtain an RMA number, or for assistance with other product concerns or issues, please contact our technical support department (Email: support@ikancorp.com or call 713-272-8822). Once an RMA number has been issued, the end-user has 30 days to ship the RMA product to Ikan. Failure to ship the RMA product within 30 days will automatically void the RMA number, at which time the end-user must contact Ikan to request a new RMA number.

Once Ikan receives the RMA product and validates in writing that the product qualifies for warranty, Ikan reserves the right to (1) repair the RMA product using new or Ikan factory refurbished parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability or (2) replace the RMA product with a product that is at least functionally equivalent to the RMA product and is formed from new and/or Ikan factory refurbished product that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability. The purchasing end-user is responsible for the shipping cost and shipping insurance of their RMA product to Ikan and Ikan is responsible for the shipping cost and shipping insurance back to the purchasing end-user. Ikan is not responsible for any customs duties and tax charges related to the RMA product.
