High-Bright NDI Teleprompter Monitor w/ NDI Tally
Our M19W-NDI High-Bright Talent Monitor is designed to conveniently attach below the teleprompter to enable on-screen talent see their presentations live. The monitor features Full NDI (Network Device Interface) encoding/decoding, as well as traditional 3D-SDI, HDMI, and VGA, inputs. NDI is a video-over-IP protocol that allows for high-quality, low-latency video transmission over standard Ethernet networks. Our NDI teleprompter monitor can be connected to a network using standard Ethernet cables, eliminating the need for dedicated video cables or specialized hardware. This simplifies the installation, making it easier and more cost-effective. In addition, the monitor utilizes PoE++ technology that allows both power and NDI data to be transmitted through a single Ethernet cable. By using a single cable for power and data transmission, you can reduce the overall cost of materials, as well as the cost of installation and maintenance. Since POE++ provides high wattage, the monitor is able to run at 1000 nits.
The M19W-NDI monitor features a tally light that illuminates red, green, and yellow. This tally light can be either hooked up via NDI or a 3-pin XLR connector. This means that a director can cut between cameras and the tally color will let the on-camera talent know which camera is live. Yellow tally lights are typically used as a way to signal to the talent, crew, and director that a camera is about to go live, and to be ready for the shot. A green tally light is typically used to indicate that a camera is in preview mode. This means that the camera’s output is being sent to a monitor, but it is not currently on air. This allows the talent, director, and production crew to check the composition, focus, and other aspects of the shot before it goes live. A red tally light is used to indicate when a camera is live or on-air.
Multiple Tally Control Protocols
The M19W-NDI offers three different ways to control the tally light.
- Over NDI: When the monitor is being used as an NDI decoder, the tally light will react when the encoded stream goes live
- Contact Closure: The monitor’s tally light can be controlled by cold contact closure via the RJ45 tally connector on the monitor
- Over IP: The tally light can be controlled with an HTTP API. Giving you
*Please note. This monitor only encodes and decodes 1080p NDI-HB streams and does not encode or decode NDI-HX streams. The monitor does not encode and decode simultaneously.
