PD2-H3

The PD2-H series is the third generation of the PD Movie Remote Air and comes with a wide array of upgrades to all of its key components. The controller has been redesigned inside and out for enhanced comfort and performance, and the motors have been tweaked for increased output and efficiency. The Bluetooth module has also been upgraded, all while maintaining the same standards of performance present in the entire PD Movie line.

Extremely Thin

The housing for the Remote Air controller has been re-imagined with the goal of making the unit more comfortable to hold while expanding its functionality. The controller is now 18mm thick, which is half the thickness of the original, and has rounded edges and corners for comfort during long days of shooting.

Highly Responsive

The focus wheel has expanded from 52 to 57mm in diameter, giving the operator greater control over movement and positioning by making more room for the remarkable 7200 point resolution. This means that 7200 individual points are registered on the hand wheel for marking the position of the wheel and the motors. There are also two levers on the control unit to allow for full control of three different motor channels simultaneously. The position of each motor is shown on the OLED display screen, so each point can be marked precisely. Marks on each channel can be registered to approximately 1/25th of a degree of rotation.

New OLED Display

The improved OLED display shows the signal channel, signal strength, remaining battery of the controller, receiving motor voltage, and Bluetooth connection confirmation. Channels range from 0 to 7200, with bars also serving as a visual representation of the zoom and iris channels.

Faster, Stronger, More Sensitive

The PD2-H systems utilize precision brushless motors imported from Germany. They have been upgraded as well to match the increased responsiveness of the PD2-H transmitter. Through a series of firmware tweaks and upgrades, the motors now perform at 100% efficiency with faster, firmer, and more precise movements. For example: a pull that took 1.2 seconds on the previous generation of motor (at top speed) now only takes .7 seconds to complete and with increased accuracy.

Connectivity

The Remote Air 3 series comes with an integrated Bluetooth 4.0 module. Through this module, motors can be controlled in two ways: through the PD2-H controller, or via the iOS PD Movie app. With this app, you can set hard limits and marks, save lens data, switch channels, and even pre-program pulls to execute automatically.

Right- and Left-Hand Control

The Remote Air 3 controller includes a function that allows the operator to change the orientation of the hand wheel at any time. This means maintaining accurate control whether you are left- or right-handed, and regardless of your orientation to the camera.

100M Transmission Distance

The Remote Air 3 utilizes 2.4G wireless technology and full duplex signal transmission to transmit and receive data remarkably quickly. While movement is registered on the controller, the motor is simultaneously transmitting position data to accurately reflect movement and positioning in a fraction of a second. Anti-interference and error correction functions are in place to keep controllers and motors connected and communicating at a distance of up to 100m.

Long Battery Life

The Remote Air 3 controller has an integrated, high-capacity battery that can last up to 30 hours. If you need more, you can charge and power the unit using any standard 5v USB power bank.

For 2D and 3D Shooting

The Remote Air 3 can control up to three motors by itself, but can also be adapted for 3D shooting by assigning multiple motors to the same channel.
