Two weeks ago a gigantic pop culture event happened in Houston, Texas called “Comicpalooza” a convention that features comics, sci-fi/fantasy, horror, anime, film, gaming, music more! This year they had guest such as Stan Lee, Jeremy Renner, George Takei, and many other guest from various backgrounds.
Not everything about Comicpalooza is about superheros, celebrities, or people cosplaying in tights-they also had panels there where anyone could participate and learn something! We participated this year by providing some gear and sending in our experts to speak to aspiring filmmakers at these panels hosted by Mirosearch. At our panels, we covered topics such “Life on set: what to do and not to do”, “Camera movement”, “Lighting Techniques”, “Rigging your Gear”, and much more.
Local filmmakers came by gave their best knowledge and tips to all of the aspiring filmmakers, people go the chance to come out and put their hands on gear that probably never got a chance to see before, and everyone had the chance to learn something new that weekend.
We had an amazing fun time speaking to everyone and seeing everything. Thank you to Microsearch and Comicpalooza for having us there to share our love for filmmaking and the many ways to do it. Can not wait till next year!
