A purpose-built desktop teleprompter for corporate communicators, video podcasters, and creators who deliver scripted content on camera every day. Set it up once, leave it on the desk, and switch between traditional teleprompter mode and Zoom/Teams eye-contact mode without rebuilding your rig.
Eye contact on Zoom and Teams
Connect the prompter monitor as an extended display over HDMI, then drag your Zoom or Teams window onto it. The person you’re speaking with appears directly behind the beamsplitter glass, right over the webcam lens — so you see their face, their reactions, and their body language while the camera captures you looking straight ahead. Clients, prospects, and colleagues experience the kind of direct, attentive eye contact that’s nearly impossible when your webcam sits above or beside a laptop screen. Ideal for sales calls, executive briefings, client check-ins, and any meeting where presence and credibility matter.
Executive video, employee training, and internal communications
Load your script into PrompterPro, position your webcam behind the beamsplitter glass, and speak naturally while reading every word. Leaders stay on-message and on-brand without memorizing lengthy scripts, and the audience sees confident, direct eye contact from start to finish — whether the video is a quarterly earnings address, a company-wide policy update, or an onboarding walkthrough.
Solo content recording
Whether you’re producing YouTube episodes, online course modules, or internal how-to videos, the PT312-DESKTOP turns your desk into a permanent recording station. The weighted base stays in place between sessions — no setup, no teardown. Sit down, open your script in PrompterPro, and hit record. Because the text scrolls directly in your line of sight, you spend less time memorizing and re-shooting, and more time publishing. Great for creators, educators, and corporate teams that need to produce scripted video on a regular cadence without tying up a studio.
Virtual interviews and remote guest hosting
Load your question list or interview outline into the prompter and let it scroll at your own pace while your guest’s video feed sits on the same screen. You stay conversational and in the moment — no glancing down at printed notes, no toggling between windows — and your guest sees a host who’s fully engaged. Built for podcast hosts conducting remote interviews, hiring managers running video screens, journalists working sources over video, and panel moderators juggling multiple discussion threads.
Live streaming and webinars
The beamsplitter glass keeps the scrolling text invisible to the camera, so your audience sees a polished, confident presenter — not someone reading. For hour-long webinars, product launches, and recurring live shows, the always-on desktop design means you can rehearse, go live, and wrap without rearranging a single piece of gear.
FAQ
What webcams does this work with? Any webcam with a 1/4″-20 tripod thread. That covers most popular consumer webcams, including the Logitech C920, OBSBOT Cameras, Brio, MX Brio, and Insta360 Link.
How does the Zoom/Teams eye-contact setup work? The prompter monitor connects to your computer over HDMI as an extended display. Drag your Zoom or Teams window onto that screen, and the person you’re talking to appears directly over the webcam lens. You see their reactions; the camera sees you looking straight into it. The same approach works for Google Meet, Webex, and any other call software that runs in a movable window.
What software is included? Does it run on Mac and PC? PrompterPro is included free and runs on both Mac and PC.
What cables and connections do I need? The box includes an HDMI cable and AC power adapter. You’ll need a computer with an HDMI output, or a USB-C / DisplayPort to HDMI adapter for laptops without a native HDMI port.
How long does assembly take? Is it difficult? Standard teleprompter assembly: mount the base, attach the monitor, install the hood, set up the webcam riser, and connect your webcam.
What’s the warranty? 1-year standard Ikan warranty.
How does this differ from other Ikan teleprompters? The PT312-DESKTOP is purpose-built for desktop use. It uses a weighted, height-adjustable swivel base, includes a built-in webcam riser, and ships with a 1080p widescreen monitor. Other Ikan teleprompters in the lineup are optimized for studio use, larger camera bodies, or tripod mounting.
